Advocare MNS, Max C & Max E Review

I decided to write this blog entry because when I searched the web I could not find any real reviews on the Advocare products. So I decided to post my own review on the products that I've tried...

Okay, some years ago I tried an Advocare product called Advocare MNS Platinum. It was a 14 day supply (like most of their weight loss products) of a boat load of pills. Although, I must say the MNS Platinum worked like a dream. I included it into my diet and exercise plan and I literally lost like 15lbs within the 2 weeks of taking it. I thought that was insane but the weight loss was real. That was around 2003/2004.

I've been working out and dieting lately wanting to lose some post pregnancy pounds so I thought hey, let me look up this product again and include it once again in my work out regimen. I go to the Advocare website and of course everything has changed. They no longer offer the MNS Platinum. They now have Max C and Max E. I'm wondering what happened? I almost feel like the MNS Platinum formula may have had Ephedra in it which of course is now banned. So I thought... well, let me try the Max C first which is suppose to control appetite. The results: nothing. I lost no weight and I felt like I was taking a bunch of pills for nothing. You literally take about 12 pills by the end of lunch. This is ridiculous especially when I received no results. I think I would've done better without taking the pills because they reduced my bowel movements.

I decided to give them one last try in hopes of ordering the product that more closely matched the original MNS Platinum so I went with the Max E. I just finished taking my last day of pills and guess what ... I didn't lose any weight. Same results as with the Max C... lots of pills, minimal bowel movements. In case you're wondering I drank lots of water, ate a balanced diet and got plenty of exercise. Does it give you a boost of energy like it promises? Yes, the same way a couple of  cups of coffee will. It's a caffeine high. If all you want is an energy boost go with 5 hour energy. I've tried it and surprisingly the energy is very natural, no jitters or anything close to it. In my opinion the Advocare weight loss products are a waste of time and money. The company does not offer a money back guarantee or any type of guarantee for their products. You can't call the company if you have a question. You can only submit your question(s) through their website. I have submitted 2 separate emails via their website and no one has contacted me. You can ask a sales rep all the questions you want but they are just selling the product... their knowledge is limited. You have to remember they're running an at home business of selling this stuff.

Anyhow, you have been warned. I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents for those of you who are searching the web for information on this stuff.

New Find... Famocracy

Here's a cool site I found on the web... AND they have a short blog there about me too!
Famocracy is all about the vision.

Founders Edward Lando and Guillaume Hajek, both dual-degree students at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, are encouraging people to follow their dreams in life instead of settling for a job they do not like.

Famocracy allows talented people to reveal their passions to the world, and get rewarded for them. Musicians, Movie makers, Photographers, Models, Designers: all of these are beautiful and exhilarating professions to pursue, but the problem is that they are risky at first. They are high risk, high reward paths.

What Famocracy is offering is a no-risk, high reward situation.

Users create an account and post any type of media (video, audio, image, prose) which demonstrates their passion. Their posts are then voted up or down by the other members of the site. Thanks to this crowd sourcing, the most talented individuals in each category emerge. These leaders of their field get the most attention and receive numerous job offers through Famocracy.

No more stage-fright problem, or having to quit your job: Famocracy provides an easy way for anyone to take a shot at living their dream. Talented people no longer have to take tremendous risks to become famous. Famocracy lets fame find them.

Making A Comeback???

Well, I'm thinking about it anyways. Life has been busy for me and I previously put all entertainment ventures (modeling, singing, acting) on hold with the addition of my child. For those of you like me know what I mean. Family life is busy for me these days although I miss singing and acting. I'll probably see about getting myself back into some projects this year. I truly miss it. Modeling for me may be on it's way out the door. I don't know though but that may be a chapter in my book that will be closing for me.

Oh and for those of you that don't already know I have a separate blog where I've been posting my DIY projects. I'm an artist... didn't you know? ;)

I'm searching for a long lost friend...

Okay. Many people know that when I began in this modeling world a photographer by the name of Charleson Corley shot a large portion of my portfolio. He was and is an outstanding photographer. He also shot my wedding. Those photos were gorgeous as well. The problem I'm having is I seemed to have lost touch with him and can't find him anywhere. I've contacted him through every means of contact that I have with no luck. By phone, email, text message, etc... I don't know. So, if anyone out there knows him please get him to contact me if you will. THANKS A MILLION!

I've Been M.I.A.

First of all I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Okay folks... I've been missing in action lately and you probably know why. It's because of the newest addition to my family... my baby girl. I must say I absolutely love being a mom. It's the best thing that could have ever happened to me. I get people asking me all the time, "do you think you'll get back into modeling?" Honestly, I'll have to say no. Why you ask? Number 1, I most certainly don't have the same body. I have some post pregnancy weight I need to work on losing and even when I lose it I still don't think I will be making a return to the modeling industry.

I don't want to fill my free time with too much stuff as I want to remain an involved parent. I would also like to make a return to acting. I really enjoy it and it presents nice challenges that I welcome. There are also some other personal endeavors I would like to pursue. Not where all of this will take me... but we'll see. I'll post stuff as they arise... my opinions, updates, and whatever else I feel like posting. ;) Ta ta for now.

QuidBids.com????

Okay, I came across this site called QuidBids.com where they brag about their penny bids and people are getting big time items for close to nothing. As I researched it a little more I realized this is the best money making idea anybody could've come up with. I wish I had thought of it myself. The thing is, is that in appearance it looks like your making penny bids but in reality every time you bid it's .60... you have to buy your bids in packages... 45, 75, 300, 600 or 800 bids. You're essentially paying 60 cents for a penny... visually speaking. At .60 each you pay $27 for 45 bids... not 45 cents. So let's say you see an iPad that sold for $27.50. You think, OMG I have to get in on this. First of all, a beginner will most likely not win the top items. Secondly, $27.50 is actually 2,750 bids (if they were all penny bids). At 60 cents a bid, QuidBids.com made $1,650 selling an ipad. Like I said, I wish I had thought of this. The thing is, the only money you're out of are the bids that you make. Making bids doesn't guarentee you'll win anything. So you could spend $27 on 45 bids and lose it all walking away with nothing. What's great for QuidBids.com is with every bid everyone throws 60 cents into the pot that's paying for the item. That racks up pretty fast. What's bad is that the time just doesn't run out... you know, the way Ebay does it. They do it like a live auction so it could take a day for 15 seconds to get down to zero because everyone wants that 50" tv for $30. I think they do it like a live auction so that they can rack up as much money as possible. They make it sound like they're keeping the consumer in mind and "giving everyone a chance." Yea right. I'm smarter than that. Anything that's too good to be true, probably is. The only good thing is that if you win you probably spent less than what the item actually costs. QuidBids.com is definitely getting rich off of this one. I'm looking at a bidding war right now on a 16gb Apple iPad. Current bid is $25.82 and climbing with 10 seconds left. If it sold for this price QuidBids.com would pocket $1,549.20 for a 16gb iPad... that's crazy. They are making a killin'!

I think they're so successful because of the deceitful nature that they market the site.  Instead of saying the bids are penny bids, they should just label them as number of bids. The amount listed is misleading because it's not true. It confuses people and that's how people get suckered in by thinking, oh I can get an ipad for $25... this is an untruth if you're buying bids for 60 cents a piece and a bid is equivalent to 1cent in their world of bidding. If you do decide to participate in bidding on QuidBids.com be sure not to spend more money than the value of the item you're bidding on. Don't be fooled by the low bid amounts... be sure to multiply it by 60 to see what the items are really going for and how much you really want to spend. Just don't get drawn in by the penny bids... in essence they're 60 cent bids.

New Hair Products I love...

1. Joico's K-Pak Leave-In: Love it, love it, love it! After washing and conditioning I put this in my hair prior to blow drying and the outcome was superb. It didn't weigh my hair down or make it stiff like some leave-ins. My hair was soft and beautiful even at it's blown out stage.

2. "It's A 10" Leave-In: OMG this product is the bomb! It's expensive ($16.95 for 4oz bottle)but well worth the splurg. Put this in your hair regimine if you blow dry your hair and want to maintain healthy hair.
